I got access to the mirror tap in my g42, plugged the cables in and plugged that into the dashcam but no dice. i can use the CLA to turn the camera on (DR900x) so I know that works, but the mirror tap does notget the job done. I have used multiple cables from amazon so far and I get the same non-result. I've come to two possibilities:

1. I'm not tapping into the mirror tap properly? I'm going red to red and black to black. I see different people saying all sorts of different things online, hoping someone can clarify this for me.

2. The 3.5mm jack doesn't fit as snugly into the DR900x as the CLA 3.5mm jack. This has been the case with 3 different cables from amazon from different vendors. Maybe I need a totally different solution?

Any help on this would be great. Thank you.

afaik, the power going to the mirror isn't enough/recommended for dashcams. I have used it for my radar detector no problem though.

Can confirm that this works well. Front camera only, tho
