Extra rubber 265 rear / 255 front Handles beautifully, rides very well even while lowered. Grip is insane, launches harder, cornering grip is endless, brakes harder and front end has a little more feedback. I can see why the M2 runs a staggered 20/19" setup the chassis feels made for this configuration. |

Did you consider going with 295/30 in the rear? That would give you a sidewall height identical to the 255/35 in the front, and still be in spec on a 10" wheel. |

You could go to 295 but I wanted to retain the factory Scrub Radius/Centre line as I was shooting for performance, balance and not just asthetic. 295 are going to start to push very close to the struts so you'd have to increase offset thus push outside of factory Scrub Radius and your tire would be right on the fender line. But you absolutely could do it. The 275 on 20x10 stays within xDrives front/rear +1% max differential so that was the best set up with really no compromise. If you go wider you're increasing offset and pushing toward the Bodyline or running dangerously close to the suspension, if not touching, either way that was to much compromise for what I wanted. The 265 has virtually no lateral sidewall deflection either, all around it drives beautifully.

At your leisure, would you be able to post a few side photos showing how flush the wheels are with the wheel arches and how the tire sidewall fits on your wheel sizes? Curious. Everyone is always looking to push the limits but if you say that the wheel and tire sizes are a perfect match then the debate is settled. Also which spring did you choose? Thanks.

The rear should sit at +5mm-10mm higher once the springs have settled to maintain the 50/50 weight distribution and COD of the car. The guys who just dump it all around don't know what they're doing to the handling of the car. |

Spacers? I'm looking for a little bit of a step up for the summer ride but it's critical that any changes only improve/retain the best handling balance for the chassis. Looks are secondary to me and I don't plan to lower it or anything like that...I'm not a suspension engineer and I did not sleep in Holiday Inn recently. Just want a fun summer setup and a safe winter setup. |
