MY25 X5 m60i Week 20 Build (May 13-17)

My build in case anyone cares:

Exterior: Blue Mountain Ridge
Interior: Black Sensafin

Packages:
Drivers Assistance Professional
Premium Package
Parking Assistance

Add ons:
Multi contour Seats
4 Zone climate control

Buyer regrets:
Honestly, not many. Very worried about color looking terribly outdated in a year, but I didn’t want Gray/Black/White. I do like smooth comfortable ride so air suspension might be a miss not having. Didn’t need any of the M Sport stuff. Executive package didn’t seem to have anything that was above “nice to have.” Live in warm/moderate climate so didn’t need heated steering wheel or back seats.

Fact that it is 5 inches wider than my X3 has me nervous that I’ll get frustrated with parking in tight places. But overall, I’m really happy with the build. Get the X5 and all the driver assist tech without the bloat that I didn’t need to spend money on.

My production date has moved up a day from 5/14 to 5/13. As my birthday is the 12th (Sunday), I would love to see it moved up to the 11th, but quite happy to have moved up at all.

Mine still shows "entering assembly" and has since Saturday afternoon. Not sure how that is possible given we looked to be on the same track.

Dealer just called me, and the vehicle has been released to a carrier, should be here tomorrow or Wednesday.

"Awaiting Carrier Assignment" now. Crazy thing is that once it leaves the factory, it should be at the dealer two hours later, max. My SA told me just this morning he expected a delivery next week. It appears I am getting info much quicker than he is.

I called the dealer and it is not there, Wednesday the latest. Is there a way to track the truck using the production number or VIN?

That happened to one of mine also. Sometimes the carrier processes the delivery early. No, there is no way to do that for safety reasons among others.

Nope. If the tracker is accurate, my car is just sitting there waiting for a truck to take it two hours up the road. Kinda frustrating for it to wait there days for a two hour trip. Hendrick owns the two BMW dealers here in Charlotte so they have trucks coming up here quite often.

I guess we just have to wait. At least we know the delivery is going to happen soon.

It will happen when it happens. I am trying to plan a trip up to my lake house a couple hours from Charlotte. If he tells me it is going to be here sooner rather than later, I will just push my trip a day out. If it is going to be here , say Friday or Saturday, I will just go up a day earlier than planned and come back a day earlier. I just don't want to delay my departure for no reason.
