Although the 2025 manual M2 will still be limited to 550Nm of torque and the torque plateau is likely to just be lengthened to match the 2024 manual M3/4 engine mapping, if the automatic does get 600Nm of torque but still 473bhp power output quoted at a nominal 6,250RPM (the same engine speed as the 2024 M3/4 base, Competition and M2), then the spec is likely to be 353kW (473bhp) st 6,250RPM, 600Nm (479lbft) from 2,700 to 5,620RPM, then boost is curtailed from 5,620 to 6,250 RPM to maintain power close to 353kW from 5,620 to 6,250RPM. This is the strategy for the 338kw/550Nm S58 (power plateau from 5,870 to 6,250RPM), 353kW/550Nm S58 (power plateau from 6,130 to 6,250RPM) and S58 375kW/650Nm (power plateau from 5,500 to 6,250RPM).
