How many of you guys also purchased BMW Ultimate Care+ when ordering your M2s? Is it worth it?

My two BMWs ('22 X3MC & '23 M2) came with Ultimate care.

I got ultimate care+, i figure 1 brake job, which feels likely within 3y/36k miles (in nyc) and it’ll pay for itself

Guess I missed the + in the OP's question . So to that, no I don't think it's worth it for brake pads and wiper blades. Brake pads are $500 & can be changed in under 30 min. Wiper blades are also inexpensive and easy to change. If BMW weren't making decent money on it, they wouldn't offer it.

* I have seen plenty of dealers try to sell things that were included. It would't surprise me if a dealer was trying to charge for the included Ultimate Care.

You can buy the + anytime before the 3/36 maintenance coverage expires so just wait and see if you need brakes before then and purchase it if you do. My X3MC has 48k miles on it and still doesn’t need brakes in the front or back, fyi.

So reading the posts so far it seems it is not an extended warranty but a (possible) discounted service plan? Is that right?

Its math. A DE instructor at my local NASA club got the particular service package which essentially paid for 2 sets of front pads (the front wore more than the rears) when the wear light showed up and a set of rotors.

I can validate this because I had rotors replaced on my previous E90 M3 (it was part of the plan ~2012) when it went in for service. I did not request it (had brand new set of Pagid yellows on the car which were changed to OEM pads and new rotors because they 'looked' warped) but that is a different story.

And that’s why I didn’t get it haha. No way I’ll hit that mileage, and you really need to hit the brake replacement to justify the cost.

I'd like to know as well, I ended up with ultimate care +2 but it can be refunded within 60 days or before use. Trying find a hard justification if this will be worth for now.

Ultimate Care+ pays for itself with the first brake service, which if you drive the car properly, you will use. It also replaces the clutch once on manual cars. Another $2000+ service.

Withbthose hating so much on the oem pads (brake dust), does this reduce its value?

From my quick search on f80 clutch life, the OEM clutch should easily last over 80k, if not over 100k miles. I think that's past most ultimate care packages

good to know! i may not hit the miles, but i plan to drive the car "hard" and for the slightly discounted amount that it was offered to me at, it was worth the gamble to me. If I just get a set of rear pads/rotors (which apparently go first in g80 forums) I'm at breakeven or a bit ahead, if not, it's a few hundred bucks. I didn't know you can buy it at any time though, I'll look into that, takes the gambling part out of it

If you drive the car properly on the street, you shouldn't need to replace brakes nor clutch in 36k miles.

You mean if I follow the speed limit and drive it like a grandma? Then yes, those consumables should last 36,000 miles if you drive an M2 to work, target, and starbucks. I bought this car to use it to its full potential on back roads and at the track.

I was wondering about this same topic so I found this thread. I looked into the fine print on the BMW website and it says "BMW Ultimate Care+ availability varies by model and vehicles must be enrolled in program prior to reaching 60 months / 60,000 miles." I doubt I'll hit 12,000 miles/year since I work from home, so I'll set a calendar invite to enroll in 59 months or when the brakes start to feel like they're losing it.

It's definitely not worth the extra coin if you ask me. Even BMW service advisors (if you know them well & are close friends with a few of them) will admit, those items will last well beyond service interval for a replacement. BMW makes lots of money from selling parts & service. Put that extra money in a savings account instead.

If you plan to keep your car, I think it's worth it. My m2 only has ultimate care, but my cpo x3 has ultimate care+3. Not paying for most any wearable parts til 2027 or 100k miles is definitely worth it. Especially since brakes will happen at least once. If you plan to ditch your car in 3 years, it's surely not worth it, imo.

Yup, rhe service department is the big money makers at dealerships.
