PDC issue
Hi all,
I’ve noticed two issues related to PDC (parking distance control) and wondering if anyone has similar experience: 1. The auto engagement of PDC is very inconsistent when I pull into my garage. I’m pretty close to one side of my wall and for sometime no matter how hard I try (drive slowly like what manual suggested ~2.5 mph) and it just won’t engage, even when I almost run into the front wall it just won’t display the radar UI. I can manually turn that on using the button and the radar UI shows I’m already super close. 2. When I manually engage by pressing the button when pulling in, radar shows obstacles and all on the UI but there is absolutely no beeping sound whatsoever. It used to beep and it was pretty loud and I adjusted the volumn since, and it won’t beep. But when I reverse, there is beeping sound. Just not when pull forward… I appreciate all the feedback and thank you. |

For the #2, yeah I did change back the volumn to the default one which is sitting in the middle wondering if that has anything to do with it. But still, I just have radar UI working just fine but no beeping sound (for moving forward only, backing up everything works.) |

Mine is hit or miss - literally. A few weeks ago I had gotten home after a long day & 4-hour drive. I was moving our various vehicles around in the driveway and was backing into my spot in the garage. I looked forward to make sure I wasn't going to clip our basketball hoop (no beeping at all) & I backed into my son's Jeep Wrangler.
Obviously this was my fault for not looking behind me, but there was zero audible indicators that I was anywhere near his Jeep. As you can see in the photo, I hit his vehicle right at/above the sensor. Sometimes backing into my garage I get no beeps, sometimes I get full red and the loudest beeps, even though I'm in the exact same spot in the garage with plenty of space around the car.

Shoot man I think I saw your post in another thread with this incidents also. The audible beeping should be the basic needs for any radar detected aid lol…I guess I’ll run by my service adviser when I go for my break-in.
Btw I did see an OTA software update yesterday popped up, I’ll report back if that resolves it. Kinda don’t want to update since I don’t want to lose my BimmerCode codings for mirror tilts and anti-dazzle etc. lol |
