It seems that BMW UK is at least aiming away from the sporty M focused buyer of the M240i whilst also gouging. Many of the nice options that were either included as standard or were packaged together neatly are now extra/separate. M Sport seats used to be standard for UK. Now that’s ££££ extra and the base option is not leather. I didn’t mind the sensatec stuff but this grey M PerformTex stuff look ugly in pictures. Curious to see it for real.

The interior and options seem more focused on someone like a 220i/230i buyer with crafter clarity controls available, the updated interior with silly flat bottom and over designed wheel. The only nice thing about this I think is that you get the parking camera as standard now.

Also… Electric seats with memory are optional?!!

Add that all up with a price increase of just over 3% on top of multiple significant price increase the last year and even the 220i with any options quickly exceeds the UKs luxury car tax threshold of £40k

Honestly I’d say do not buy a new 2 series now and look for nice spec cars approved used. Used to be one of the best value for performance new cars out there. Now I’d think twice.

I agree. Just specced one up with similar stuff as my current one, plus a few other bits - nothing too extravagant though, and it comes in at £59K ! Thats a used M3 money or a 6mth old M2.......
Not sure I like the colour coded bits either tbh.

If you compare against used vehicles, it’s an apples and oranges comparison. Sure you could get a Cayman for under £60k if you played that game.

I wasn’t taking about new. The post I replied to was talking about going used in which case a used cayman vs a new M240i is a choice.

Strangely BMW have removed the updated model from the configurator now. It's reverted to the current model. Are they teasing us?

I just noticed this as well. I went to order one the day the configurator changed but have held off for the time being.

They probably don’t want you to be distracted by the new Fiesta.. I mean 1 series.

They did that to the G87 M2 as well. My guess is since they are not ready to take the build orders for the MY25s, it was probably just a test run so when they do post it for good, there are no glitches
