2024 M240i iDrive8 says "No Audio Source" (reset does not resolve)
I have an almost brand new 2024 M240i with iDrive8.
Periodically, I get an issue where there is no sound and trying to adjust the volume I get a message "No Audio Source" - I can change source from FM to Spotify and see it change what's playing but no music. When this happens, I also get a warning that forward collision is disabled and I have no sounds whatsoever - no turn signals, no parking sensors, no welcome sound. Resetting iDrive by holding in the volume button until the screen turns off does actually reset the iDrive system but it has no impact on the lack of sound. There seems to be a bit of a pattern: - this only seems to happen after it has been driven a while and then left for a short while (e.g. when going somewhere for lunch, I have sound on the way there but nothing on the way home) - no amount of resetting iDrive fixes it (I have literally tried 10 times) but leaving it shut off for a longer period seems to reset and I get sound again. Anyone else seen this? |

I had this exact issue after being rear ended in my MY23 M240. The amp was replaced (not sure if that was any contributing factor to the issue) but most importantly, the id8 needed to be reprogrammed. |
