Anyone have ability to check parts availability?

Looking for a rear bumper cover, part # 51-12-7-887-593. Had a order placed since 4/29 and now they say it's not available. Hoping to find one somewhat close to 75078 to avoid excessive shipping charges.

getbmwparts.com

Pop the part number into there and see what comes back. When you do it, don't put in any dashes. They're a forum sponsor and I've ordered probably $10k+ in OEM carbon fiber and wheels from them. One of the best parts suppliers I've ever dealt with.

If you place an order and it's back ordered, they'll email you and give you an estimate if they have one and the option to cancel. Every time they've done this I said I'd hang on and the item would arrive much, much sooner than they stated.

Good luck!

Problem is all online parts sites show it's available, like the one I ordered from last month. Unfortunately, shipping from getbmwparts is $279 which pretty much negates the discounted price. Bmwpartscenter told me they wouldn't ship it, and I've got an order in now with www.bmwpartswarehouse.com that says free shipping. We'll see...

Btw - I've also ordered several parts from them over the years as well.

getbmwparts.com is actually just the parts department of a dealership in Maryland with incredible customer service. I forget which but it's not hard to figure out. Silver City maybe?

I leveraged that knowledge to get my local dealer to price match them.

It's strange your shipping is that high. I ordered a set of 827Ms from them and I just checked, shipping was $249. This was for 2 separate, huge, heavy boxes.

Maybe shoot them an email and see if they can help you out. Sometimes these things get wonky with the shipping calculators.

I did confirm the shipping charges with them, and they quoted the same as their website. Hopefully, this other order works out. Need to get the new bumper cover, get it to the shop for paint, then install it. I'm tired of looking at my damaged bumper on my 6-month old car.

Garage List
Might be worth checking the German shops like Baum and Leebmann as well.

Update: I received a tracking number that the rear bumper cover has shipped. The website was offering free shipping on orders over $500 & the bumper cover came in at $551.21 (msrp $819.28). BMWpartswarehouse is BMW of San Francisco, fyi.

They honored the free shipping even though typically large items are not included in free shipping offers. They also confirmed I ordered the correct part, which the first dealer did not do & gave the incorrect part #.

Get BMW parts was the same price for the bumper but $276 for shipping. BMW Parts Center was a few $ cheaper but said local pick-up only, in Delaware.

Picked up the new bumper cover from the FedEx freight warehouse, and will drop it off at the bodyshop Monday morning.
