Right leaning.

No, I'm not talking about politics despite a looming general election set for 4th July.

I speak of the driving position in my 2023 G42 M240i X-Drive. The pedal seems uncomfortably positioned to the right, rather than directly in front of the driver.

Is it just me or have other people noticed this?

Or is this unique to Right hand drive UK cars only?

Either way it makes the car uncomfortable on long journeys.

Never noticed any issue with pedals on my US car.

Presumably you have a steering wheel on the wrong side of the car.

I've just read a test on a UK sourced M2, and they mention the problem.

I have noticed my general right foot placement, which I leave between the gas and brake (since I used to drive manual and still do via sim racing) is a bit of an unnatural spot. I feel the accelerator pedal is a bit far to the right. It doesn't bother me much, but I have found my right foot to be unnaturally canted to the right.

When I read UK car mags regularly for a number of RHD cars reviewed the reviewer mentioned pedals offset. (A time or two even the steering wheel position came in for some negative comments.)

Think this arises from the car being built in a RHD configuration.

The problem is car was not designed ground up to be LHD or RHD but LHD. As a result RHD pedal location can be compromised.

Yep.....this sounds about right, sadly.
