Hardrest Idrive 8

Just had a long call with BMW to fix the BMW app remote start.

Apparently to properly rest the Idrive you have to hold the power button for 70 seconds. The screen will go black twice. Could be useful for someone here.

Mine has a tendency to lose connection with my phone at times and say the Bluetooth can’t connect or the CarPlay screen just goes black. Tried the minor reset of 30 seconds but didn’t take. Will try this next time thanks.

I do this nearly every time I place a large drink in the left cup holder…..
