G87 extremely prone to rock dent?
Hello guys,
Just got my g87 m2 for about a 4 months. I've taken it up a Long highway twice for some spirited driving (150km/h-200km/h), and I've gotten 2 dents from that, 1 dent each drive lol. first one is located on the driver door closer to the front fender. The other one is passenger side rear fender exactly where the fender curve ends and meets the wheel. Just wondering if this is normal just because I'm driving fast or I need to perhaps get some mud flaps to prevent? Or I just have to get PPF? P.S. pretty new to owning these types of sports cars. Thanks! |

I have been advised by PPF installers that even with PPF, it's not foolproof in preventing dents or even paint separation. They told me if the force hitting the PPF is strong enough, the paint could actually separate from the body panel. Then when the PPF is pulled off, a chunk of the paint goes too. |

I suggest get PPF. The body and tires of this car are so wide that your car is likely exposed to all the driving elements and road debris around.

As soon as my car’s back from PPF, I’m putting the lo-pro MegaChip mud flaps.
I wanted them to wrap the PPF around into the wheel well before I install them.

I've got over 13k mi on my M2 and no dents or dings. The majority of those miles are on I35 between Dallas & Austin, TX. For anyone familiar, I35 is a wasteland of road debris, 18-wheelers & Texans driving huge pickup trucks. I do have ppf on the car and can see where the front end and hood have taken quite a few hits. Without ppf, the front end would look like it's 10 yrs old.
