100%. Great product. Depending on the product line your detailer uses, they’ll add a round of Spotless to the annual coating “maintenance” top-up that they charge $300 for. Major scam of course, but the product does work .

You’re welcome (but maybe sorry? ). The detail product world is a vortex, impossible to extract yourself once in it.

I use to use a product by the The Last Coat company called Clear SR. But apparently it's not available at the moment. It's a mild acid that sits in an oil based solution & it's very VERY effective. GYEON also make a water spot remover that is suppose to be highly effective.

hey folks... finally some time for a fulsome update.
the genesis of this all was that i fired my monthly hand wash subscription for a general dissatisfaction with the finished product and me dealing with some of the clean up. wanted to try to DIY this before passing the buck (and buck$) to my detailer. here is what i started at (on the trunk lid). really baked on water spots, probably courtesy of no covered parking at my work: so let's begin. i started with a thorough power wash, then applied carpro descale at the specified 10:1 ratio for my foam cannon (chemical guys torx if that matters): the foam is hilariously thick and sticks quite well. i kept the car wet and reapplied more descale as it rolled off until i used the whole bottle of mixture (1 liter and approx. 5 mins of dwell time). good news was the ceramic coating certainly kept its hydrophobic properties: bad news was that the baked on water spots looked largely untouched, and i could tell before i even dried off: however i finished off with a two bucket method wash with carpro reset. more good news is that from 5 feet the car looks immaculate. the descale definitely did its job with less stuck on/baked on imperfections: buuuuut the water spots were barely touched. i let the car dry completely and came back after about an hour to try some spotless 2.0. and the good news is- this definitely works. i let dwell for 35 seconds after a light spread with a clean microfiber, and then i applied a moist microfiber and some running water and: you can very clearly see where the spotless was applied. i followed directions on a few other high visibility spots as my time to do this was running out, with good results. i then did a final wash of the panels affected with reset and dried again. final product: couples notes: the spotless did in fact have an adverse effect on the hydrophobic properties of the ceramic at 35 seconds of dwell time. the descale did a great job pulling less baked on spots off and i will use this in a few washes again and give some more dwell time. |

I would look into rinseless wash with DIY Detail, Koch Chemie RRW, or ADS Hero rinseless. It's a great option for hard water since if you go panel-by-panel you don't give an opportunity for water spotting to happen. It's also quite safe and I think the results are paradoxically better than soap washes sometimes.
