Decided to finally install my MAD intake. It’s been sitting in a box for a few months. Figured since the JB4 was coming out I’d make more room removing the stock intake.

This is a pretty slick setup and a fantastic value. Haven’t driven it yet. Waiting for my DME from Femto. But my guess it will sound like most open filter intakes.

I decided to go this route vs front mount for simplicity and more importantly I didn’t want to impact cooling since I track the car.

The heat shields fit great. The spring clamps from the stock tubing fit great. All and all very happy.

Install time is less than an hour.

Blue is the set up I would go with for sure. I bet the induction sounds are off the chart nice!

Can’t say if there is much of a performance difference. Sound is nice on it. Good to hear the turbos spool. May slightly quicker spool up.

Just a nice compliment to the tune and mid pipe. Car was just too quiet stock. On the track it provides that extra audible input.

Did you torque your strut brace back on to spec or just tighten it? Fun fact, bmw also says you should replace that front screw anytime it’s removed.

I just tighten. I’ve had that thing on and off too many times to count. Some day I’ll get a nice brace for the car with some better hardware.
