Change to the exhaust

Hi! I want to change the exhaust of the M240i because in my opinion it sounds too little (very nice but little). My first option was to remove the particulate filter but I would have to touch the ECU and my car is still under warranty so I have discarded it. So I'm looking for a GPF back exhaust not too expensive and I found this Scorpion: https://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/bm...-valve-daytona
Would it change the sound of the car a lot or would it be a subtle change? I have also looked at Milltek but they are a lot more expensive.... What do u think I should do?

most reputable brands should have a video on YouTube showcasing the sound. I'd spring for Milltek if it was me.

Your first mod should be a valve controller. Easy to install and does not effect warranty. You can control how far your flaps open. I have them open on my m4 to 100% almost all the time but can press a button and put in OEM mode and quite it down. I'm buying one for my wifes M240I we are ordering. It made a huge difference for me. As a side note, even when you are in Sport Plus the OEM vales only open to a maximum of 70% so you have more sound you are missing out on. I bought the SST valve controller as it's half the price of others and does a perfect job.

I didn’t know it was only 70%!

If you have Bimmercode/Bimmerlink and a compatible dongle, they are telling me they hope to release a Bimmerlink interface soon where you can control the flap in a CarPlay/Android Auto app right in iDrive.

The SST valve controller comes with a remote. What I did on my M4 was program 100% open flaps to one of my homelink buttons on my mirror....then I programmed the OEM mode to the other homelink and left the third homelink for my actual garage door. Super easy to switch the mode from your mirror.

You could consider a downpipe as an alternative.

Below vid has OPF and 200 cel downpipe and it sounds much louder than stock

Downpipes are unfortunately frowned upon for any warranty work during warranty timeframe. I would not recommend.

No. ECU wont need to be touched. Catted downpipes would not show CEL. Catless would

Hi! Ive found this item: https://www.leib-engineering.de/leib...w-m240i-g42-en

which apparently I can use to remove the opf without touching the ECU (so maybe in that way I would not loose warranty).

Anyone knows about it? Is it a better idea than modiifying the ECU?
