Very likely not. That's why I mentioned that the feedback from people who have installed coilovers after Eibach springs or part of my thought process on the issue.

That's pretty much my thinking as well, I feel like the stock suspension with the addition of the iBox springs was an improvement. But after hearing reports of people's shocks starting to fail very prematurely, now anytime I feel like the ride is getting a bit squirrely, in the back of my mind I'm wondering how long do I actually have with the stock shocks.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. The majority of people don't have issues a month after installing springs.

I hope you're right. Honestly, that's what threw me off a bit. I was hoping I would be fine with the Eibach springs for a year or two. Then I would progress to some nice coilovers in the future.

But we shall see in the next few months if I'm bouncing all over the road like a Lowrider lol

Lowering springs has to be pretty up there on mods people do on the forums. You don't see a ton of 5k miles shocks blown thanks eibach.

i have the eibach springs on my M240i and really happy with the drop and not a problem on speed bumps etc no real difference in ride qualty. had eibachs on the front of my f80 m3 comp for 50k and 30 track days and never had an issue. in my experience the one mod that i did with the m3 that made the biggest difference that no one has mentioned in camber plates. i see vorshlag do them for the g42 but yet to hear of anyone fitting them

I agree with you about the camber plates. I've not yet done any suspension modifications, primarily because the M240ix is not my track car. I have an MX-5 Miata for that (slower, but the go-faster parts are a lot cheaper!). I'm planning to lower this BMW a bit with the Eibach springs and at the same time do camber plates. That will allow enough front negative camber, along with a bit of rear negative camber adjustment from the original suspension to make the car handle better on the roads. That's all I'm really after. For me the goal is a rather heavy and stable but enjoyable GT car. Other guys may want to do a lot more, which is certainly worth doing- it all depends on each person's goals.

How much negative camber would be ideal for our cars for the street?

I used to run 2.5 on the M3 F80 and didnt have any problems re tyre wear or noise etc but it was a big improvement in front end bite on the track

Everything is still fine. No weird noises, and no other issues. No bouncy ride.

And hopefully it stays that way for at least a couple years.
