Anyone running some E85 blend without a tune
According to the manual, the M2 can handle up to E15. Most DI cars can actually handle up to E30 before there is a fuel trim issue. With my 2020 Mustang GT I use to run up to E20 with no issues, in fact I used E85 as a cheap octane boost. My Mustang did 434rwhp on 91, with an E85 blend of E20 (bumping the octane up to 94)the car did 444 rwhp. I am wondering if the same can be done with the S58. I would just like to get as close to 93 octane without having to go hunt down $10 per gallon VP101 racing unleaded or using Boostane or something similar. Here in Cali we get a true E85. According to this calculator that I use it gets me to E18 and 93 octane with just 1.5 gallons of E85.

First of all, hello again - I know you from M6G - but apparently Bimmerpost considers "Biggus Dickus" far too offensive for a forum name.
I'm interested in this because splashing a few gallons of E85 into a tank has always been my favorite trick to boost octane to 93. FYI, I still have my PP Level 2 running dedicated E85 and as you know, E85 in So Cal is still at least 85% EtOH (usually higher). I ordered a 2025 M2 w/ an M6 in Purple w/ carbon fiber package. I'm sure you are enjoying your car - congrats. |
