How can I deactivate valet parking mode in 2023 BMW 230i xdrive if “BMW User ID” and valet pin was created by a previous owner?

I red about disconnecting battery, special fuse, pressing break pedal 10 times but nothing helped. Is there a special pin that comes from manufacture and can reset this mode maybe? (I saw YouTube video and it worked on Ford after entering 4-digit combination). My local dealer never replied to my requests… Hoping to get some feedback from real professionals here

You have to deactivate the previous user id and assign the vehicle to your BMW ID. Try this:

"To permanently delete the personal data in the vehicle, you must reset the vehicle to the factory settings: "CAR" > Settings > General settings > "Reset vehicle data". Please note: All individual settings can only be reset to the factory settings when the drive-ready state is turned off. The vehicle keys must be in the vehicle. In vehicles with a production date from 11/2020, the vehicle will also be removed from your BMW ID in the My BMW App and My BMW portal after resetting to factory settings."

Here's an additional post with steps.

Thank you buddy! I tried to exit this valet parking mode on the dashboard but it doesn’t allow me to do so. I cannot even turn off AC. I also tried to use My BMW app, followed steps to add vin number and then it asked to go back to dashboard and select a QR code which was never there because the system is stuck in valet parking mode…

I'd say you'll probably have to take it to the dealer and have them deactivate it, bummer.

I know from your post in the G42 forum that you bought this as a wrecked car at auction. Its very possible its a short in the electronics (I have personallyseen a '23 G42 that was rearended that caused the amp to short which further caused malfunctios in the iD8...had 6 electric codes, amp needed to be replaced and iD8 reprogrammed). Your best bet is taking it to the dealership.

Yes sir, definitely possible. With all required parts I also ordered a new positive terminal with built-in pyro fuse since head airbags deployed. My plan will be waiting for the parts, fixing the body first, obtaining all required paperwork and bringing it to the dealership for the rest. Thank you so much for information!

Quick update! After restoring health level and charging the battery, replacing airbags, resetting SRS module, and replacing the entire positive cable the engine starts like brand new now!

If you haven’t found a solution yet, send me the last 7 characters of your VIN and I’ll try to delete that profile from the backend (I work at a dealership).

Not for the pin, but I did a lot of progress in eliminating many errors from the car module with ISTA +

Quick update. Only after obtaining insurance, title and registration I was able to start talking to BMW about this.

First, BMW Assist team tried to update software on the backend and made me a primary owner by asking me to accept Terms and Conditions. But I still had valley mode inside the car.

So I brought it to the dealership. No one had clue how to resolve it so I left it overnight. Paid $252 and next day it was resolved. I assume they tried to reset everything couple of times from the backend (didn’t have a chance to talk to the mechanic team). All I can say it’s a rare use case, but definitely a missing flow by BMW software quality assurance team in the first place.

Also BWM Assist team shared with me some steps. Posting them here in case if anyone needs it in the future

Yes sir, I just randomly found a broken passenger side engine mount bracket which I ordered already. Rather than that all is perfect, it’s a great car!
