I didn't take any pics of the 2 panels that needed to be modified - it's too much work to take it all apart again to snap pics. But 2 of the panels need to be modified to cut away a small portion so the panel will clear 2 bolts (one on each side) that stick up too far. When you reinstall the panels, you will immediately see which bolts get in the way & where you need to modify the panels. If you just think of the panels as square (but they're not really - close enough to picture this) I had to cut a slot where the panel slides back into the front, towards the bumper. As soon as you try to reinstall the panel, you'll see you won't be able to because of the bolt that now sticks up & blocks it & you'll see where you got cut this slot. I cut a little at a time because I didn't want to remove too much of the panel because there are clip points around this area. Soon as the panel slid into place, no more cutting is needed. These two panels are the only ones that needed to be modified. This slot in no way affects its rigidity, or how it attaches. Still works as normal. Another thing that will help you is to use a dremel to cut the bolts. Some of them are really long & you have little space to put the nuts & washers on. You can do it - it's just tight. Way easier to cut the bolts ahead of time. When I take pics tomorrow, I will raise the car and do a video of the front lip & how I mounted it & where you need to drill. I'll put it up on youtube & put a link here in the thread.

Lots of A90 Supras are on Maxton, and the gloss black contrasts with the matte black OE kit . this Street Pro material would have been perfect in their case. and gloss black would have been better for our G87s. |

Yes and it’s irritating I have to work on the lip to either gloss black vinyl wrap + PPF it, or have it paint-prepped/shot in gloss black, then PPF’d. They make other G87 lips in gloss black, why not the V1? Dumb. The whole lip situation on the G87 sucks. Decent quality CF lips were $250-$350 things on my STIs and 135i. Now they’re all $1,100 and up, if you can find one that is minimalistic enough to be usable for a daily.

In my F87, I did not replace the HK subs but I did replace the fronts & rears, bypassed the HK amp/dsp & used a JL Audio amp & DSP. Bass was plenty adequate with that system. Clean, musical & shockingly deep. You need to make sure your amp can handle a 2 ohm load. In my G87, I replaced the subs, front & rear deck speakers (center & pssgr midranges are inactive) and I am using an AudioControl amp with DSP. I replaced the subs because I got a deal on them from Crutchfield, was curious to know if there would be a difference vs the HKs (there IS!) but also because the AudioControl amp's output at 2 ohms is 200 watts (vs the JL Audio's at 100). I do have a thread about the audio build, but limited pics. Still you can see the work I did. Here is the link: https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2116603 PM me if you have questions or reply on that thread and I'll respond/help.

thanks for the link. looks like you went with a full build which i was trying not to do. talk to my audio shop and he of course had some elaborate plans but still using Morel BMW integration and new amp, dsp and sub and sub amp. my car is a lease and need to be able to get a decent amount of the investment back. the morel speakers and subs fit 95% of the bmw cars.
glad your enjoying the system. Nothing best a high quality audio build Quote:
