Immobilise M2
Off on holiday soon, the M2 is going to be left on my driveway for a week. I’m taking both keys with me but what I’d like to know is, is there a simple relay/fuse pull that will make it impossible to start? I was thinking maybe the fuel pump relay…?

But to be honest, if someone wants it, they are coming with a flat bed.

As Techwhiz1 correctly points out a flat bed/wheel lift tow truck can have the car loaded/lifted and gone in under 60 seconds. A wheel lock doesn't help. The operator slips a nylon/plastic shoe under the locked wheel and it slides on this as it is pulled onto the flat bed. The lift truck operator can have a wheel dolly under the "immobile" end of the car in no time. |

If a secure garage is not available, then retractable bollards are the next best solution: https://bollardpros.ca/

It's unfortunate, but it's true. If a professional wants your car, they can get it.
Comfort yourself with this: the odds are relatively low. BMWs don't get stolen a lot. If you were asking this on a Hyundai forum, then you'd REAALY be F'ed. I joke that the best anti-thief feature on my M2 is the manual transmission. It won't stop pros, but it will stop the casual joyriders. |

In all seriousness, is there any place where MTs are actually still popular? |

In the UK most new drivers still learn on a manual transmission car, because if they pass their test on an automatic, their licence explicitly prevents them from driving a manual transmission car. In 2022 only 1.1 million of 41 million (less than 3%) driving licence holders in the UK had automatic-only licences: https://www.driving.org/new-drivers-...ence%20holders. |

There was a story of a guy with a Porsche 911 variant on the other side of a 10 foot high wall from the road.
They used a crane with a boom and lowered the car on a carrier. If they want it............
