6spd MT shifter rattle / Shift boot bulletin replacement?

My M2 is at the dealer currently for a rattle on the shifter. 2024 with 7K miles and this rattle just started happening and its prominent on the freeway when you're in 4th gear but it happens in 5 and 6 too.
If I pinch the shifter it actually dampens it and stops. Now the dealer told me the shift boot will be replaced because there is some bulletin on the M2 apparently to replace it which I never heard about.

Anybody know about this bulletin? Anyone have a 6spd that has dealt with this rattle before and had it fixed?

Update: New shifter assembly had to be ordered from Germany. Will be here in 3 weeks. Covered under warranty. Picked up my car in the meantime

I haven’t experience a rattle but I am only at about 5500 miles. I already have a new boot and knob to install.

Definitely following both of these posts. I have had this rattle in mine since I picked it up new. I have not mentioned it to my dealer until their is a fix for it.

If you do get it replaced by the dealer and it resolves your issue, hopefully you can share any internal BMW info on diagnosis and warranty work for this issue.

Thanks!

OK update

I picked up my car today. My service lady told me that the shifter assembly (Whatever that means) needs to be replaced and the part has been ordered from Germany and will be here in 3 weeks. Will be covered under warranty so I'll take it back when it's time.

Can you confirm if there is a bulletin for said replacement/issue?

Mine rattles also, but I think mine is the shift boot rattling on the gear lever. If I reposition the boot it stops rattling for a little until it naturally relaxes to its original position. Also stops if I have my hand on the shift knob.

Had enough and dropped my car off at the dealer.
They think it’s the shift knob. I’m not convinced.

Please let us know what they end up doing. I have the rattle but I am waiting to see what the typical dealer resolution ends up being.

I have an inconsistent rattle from the cup holder area along with one in the driver side door when the bass picks up in music. I wonder if my cup holder area rattle is the same as this.

I have always been worried about bringing these to the dealer because I know it will involve taking panels off which never are held in with plastic clips that can easily be damaged and are rarely the same after being yanked out and put back in.
