Have been searching online to point me in the right direction but haven't had any luck yet, i'm hoping someone has experience in this and can help.

Car: BMW 640D F13
Year: 2012
Unit: CIC

A few weeks ago my whole entertainment unit died including the on-screen display. The car was sitting in stationary traffic, there was a loud bang from behind the dash and after that the centre screen switched off and at the same time, my OSD disappeared. My dials, such as speedo and rev counter are all ok - it just looks to be the centre unit and the OSD.

I have tried resets and a few YT remedies but have had no joy.

I know i most likely will need to take the car in to the garage at some point, however I was hoping to ask if anyone has any idea what the issue could be?
Is there a connection between the centre unit and the OSD?
