What's the purpose of having a cat if it's causing a CEL? Wouldn't it make more sense just to go catless at that point? What's the benefit of having a cat in this situation? Smog, sound, EU? I'm genuinely curious.

Slightly less volume, cleaner exhaust emissions with less smell while not sacrificing to much sound or horsepower.
