Just installed set of BBS LM on M2. Current setup is same OEM tires with 10mm spacer in front. I have changed the wheels at local tire shop with wheel balancing. Tire pressures are even. However, car feels very bumpy/vibrating on freeway. Alignment seems fine. What could be the cause?

I’ve had this happen on my Bronco and the tires/wheels weren’t actually balanced even though I had them balanced. Take to another shop with road force balancer?

Could be rims, balancing issues, spacers or alignment.

Do you guys have any tire shop recommendation to correct this? I am afraid of going to shitty tire shops

Run the wheels without spacers, if the issue goes away the wheels may not have been sitting flush on the spacers. Reinstall with the spacers making sure they are flush with the hub and wheels, also ensure they are properly torqued down, go for another test drive. If the issue comes back, it's something with your spacers. Might want to get a different quality set.

Problem is, bbs lm requires 10mm spacer in the front to fit. I can’t take spacers out to test drive😩

In that case remove the wheels and spacers, clean the area of the hub that the spacers sit on, reinstall them making sure they sit flush to the hub and the wheels flush to the spacers, properly torque them down. Go for a test drive.

Did you get longer lug bolts for the spacers?

2 piece wheel?
They'll never feel as planted as a one piece. IMO, they don't feel as good. But they look amazing!

As for your fitment, 10mm should be fine. Are you running extended studs?
What spacers are you using, what are the wheels being torqued too?

What is the diameter? did you step up to 20" up front, because that can cause the "floating too". Did you keep the same tire footprint? Have you done an alignment.

Yes 2 piece wheels, extended bolts, spacer brand is MAD, wheels torqued to 100 lbs-ft, using oem micheline tires 19 front/20 back, only 7k miles on it. I have not done an alignment yet because I only feel car shaking at high speeds.

Wheel lug bolt tightening torque is 140nm or 103 ft-lbs. Don't take offense to this because I don't know your depth of knowledge; if you're new to installing wheels, tighten the lug bolts in a star pattern to ensure even torquing of the bolts. After putting on some miles you should go around again with your torque wrench and check all lugs, sometimes they need a bit of driving to settle in.

Also, confirm the spacers have the correct chamfer where they fit on the hub and where the wheel fits to the spacer. Some spacers have caused severe problems in the past: https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...5&postcount=15

i would say check the tire pressure, maybe out of spec or as others mentioned spacers.

i always go with a high quality spacer like H&R. they are much more expensive that other brands but i have never had any issues with them

Just a little update.. got the wheels/tires rebalanced and reinstalled spacers, but still vibrating over 70+ mph. I am going to try purchasing different spacers to test it out..
