I received this upgrade notification a while back but I remember reading about people having issues with it, it then disappeared as an upgrade for me and i figured BMW was fixing it, and now its back telling me to upgrade. Has anyone else upgraded to this without issue? 2022 model year, ID7

Interesting, I need to look into that. It allows you to code more stuff than bimmercode, right? Bimmercode is painfully slow for me

Let’s you do tons more and has access to lots of modules that BimmerCode doesn’t. You can really mess stuff up if you aren’t careful. There is a bit of a learning curve as it’s not as simple to use as BimmerCode.

I found a previous convo with you and I on the topic. The only thing i can think of that id need it for is coding the few extra anti dazzle parameters that are not available in bimmercode. It seems to work perfectly without that so not sure its worth it.

I may get the obd to ethernet adapter to speed up bimmercode coding. Down the road maybe ill get a bimmer utiliy license.

I had 2-3 messages in the My BMW app, saying that update was downloaded and ready to install, but nothing happens when it comes to resume the installation from the dashboard. I tried to reset iDrive with no luck... will call my BMW vendor then.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback. "Deleting the update" means completely uninstall/reinstall the My BMW app on the phone (or at least clear the cache) or is there an option to just delete this specific update, and then restart the download ?

Thanks for your help, appreciated.

Yeah, i got an enet cable last week and coding is lightning fast now. Wish i didn’t buy the bluetooth adapter last year, $80 wasted.

On the subject of 07/2024.30 (and in the absence of a dedicated thread), does anyone actually know what has changed for 2022 iD7 owners? All it says on the app is that "the presentation of the HUD has been adjusted to meet legal regulations". From the limited things I've seen around, it doesn't sound like anything has really changed? I'd rather not lose my coding unless I'm missing out on a fancy new feature!

Thats what it said for the 2023 update that i started this thread for. Wonder why they pushed that HUD change in two different packages.

There is an option to delete the update in the app, at the bottom of the page.

Then download it again and connect your phone to the car and it will continue with the update
