No sound from Spotify via Carplay?

Got in the car this morning & Carplay Spotify started right up, as is does 90% of the time. However, there was no sound. I reset the iDrive three times, kept getting the "this version of bluetooth is no longer supported" message. Restarted my phone (iphone 15 pro). It finally connected to the phone but still no sound when using Spotify. Checked other Carplay functions, e.g., maps/navigation & had sound.

Any ideas?

Both are updated to the latest versions. Oddly enough it was the car volume that kept resetting back to zero when I would open Spotify. I tried opening Amazon Music & there was sound, Apple Music - sound. Switch to Spotify and the car volume went to zero. I think it's fixed, but will check again in the morning.

Problem is back. The below all started yesterday when I received a notification that a new OTA update was ready to install. I haven't installed the update but I'm having issues with Apple Carplay:

1. Phone call works
2. Apple maps works
3. Texting works
4. Siri works
5. Music apps do not have any sound (spotify, amazon music, apple music).
6. Can use the spotify app on iDrive; however, after every song it switches to Carplay & no sound. I can switch back to the spotify app, but it'll switch back to carplay & no sound.
7. Works perfectly in my wife's '22 X3MC with iDrive 7.
