07/2024.30 Broke my break-in service indicator

My 2024 M2, after performing remote software upgrade to 07/2024.30, broke my break-in service indicator. It used to give me the 1200 mile warning (I have 269 miles on the car so far).

After the update completed and I turned the car on, I got a warning that the break in service is now due in 0 miles. Anybody else have this happen? I’m going to call the dealer once they open, and I sent an email to them + BMW Genius because I kind of want in writing what to do next.

Seems way too early to have a proper break in service but I’m worried BMW will flag my car if I wait 900 miles to get this service done with the indicator at 0 the whole time.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Pics attached.

Yes, same thing happened to me, with about 600 miles to go.

I don't think it is a big deal. Get the service around 1200 as documented.

Or they just completed a world first OTA fluid change. The future is now friends…

since your mileage from factory is still tracked correctly, you would have a break in service record with the mileage showing as evidence. Dont think you would have an issue with proving there was a count down glitch.

Same story here, 300 miles on car, now says Break-In Service due 0 Miles (now). The car is also shifting at higher RPMs while in S1 and it reset my seat position. I don't think I'll be so eager to update the software next time, just like I've learned with cellphones.

I talked to my dealer and they said just bring it in at 1200. But if you happen to talk to an actual service advisor let me know what they say. And yeah, I’m an early adopter for most things tech but iDrive is no longer on that list haha

Same thing happened to me. Looks like a wide-spread problem related to the software update.
