I don't really care what people drive but you're not going with AWD for performance reasons outside of drag racing.
I’ll bet you think a 230i is a better, higher performing car than an M240i too.

If that were true, wouldn't we see significant 0-60 differences between RWD and xDrive, especially from stop?
Instead we got 0.3 sec difference for both 230i and M240i.

Now try it in anything but dry weather. And there is more to driving than 0-60 in a straight line where rear bias (which xdrive has) is more important.

Sorry, I've misunderstood you, of course you were talking about RWD being more lively and dangerous to drive and didn't really mean "putting the power down" in a sense that it's any faster.
I have tried to find any information online on the topic and found a grand total of one video with a test and the guy managed to shave less than 3 seconds off 1 minute laps with AWD compared to RWD on his test laps with 600+hp M5. He looks like he's about to die (from excitement) on wet RWD lap, so that appears to be the principal difference. He completely ruined 0-60 times without the launch control in the video unfortunately.

It’s the year before BMW started their crappy cost cutting measures as well.
The stilted single screen was 100% a value engineering move. There’s so much more craftsmanship in the 2022 setup.

After driving a few loaners with the large curved screen, my initial reaction was, damn this is cool. It’s a huge and gorgeous display, it just got to be a bit much after a few days.

And the digital cluster design is ridiculous imo, who asked for a Starfox HUD on a BMW

I’m biased of course but those are my notes.

BMW Lists the 2025 RWD M240 at 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds. BMW lists the 2025 Xdrive M240 at 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds. That's .4 seconds. And that's actually a noticeable difference for the same car and at those already fast times.

And in typical BMW fashion, those numbers are conservative. C&D got 3.6 on their M240i xDrive.

True, and when I ran mine in the 1/4 this year, I saw a best of 12.17s @ 4000+ft DA (C&D says they had 12.1, which is typically adjusted for sea level). So definitely in the mid/high 3's on a prepped surface. Bone stock too.
