What are these strange hooks for?

Stupid question incoming ...

These were in my glove box when I purchased the car.

What are they for, and do I need them?

They are also called coil-over ‘C’ spanners (or wrenches).

The Allen key in the kit should be used to loosen the locking grub screw in the collars, before using the tools to change the position of the collars, too.

Only those with adjustable height suspension, such as KW H.A.S. or BMW's rebrand of the KW system called, you guessed it, BMW M Performance HAS.
If you purchased the BMW HAS, I think it's $2800 installed. KW is like $1100, plus install.

Let call it what is, M Performance Sports Suspension (referred to as HAS), code Z58, and was $2,820 port installed and under full warranty (for MY23). It is made by KW for BMW by KW's oem division (KW makes "oem" suspension parts for car manufacturers in addition to under the KW brand line), not a rebrand.

If the M Performance Sports Suspension is purchased from the M Performance catalog, its $1,870 and from IND it $1,790.

I feel like there was a gigantic missed opportunity here to reply back with what these things aren't. Kinda looks like giant can openers to me

Almost replied yesterday that you only get the 'hooks' if you get the M2 with the PYRAT package but thought most here wouldn't get it. If anyone does get it, means they're OG.

They are for opening German beer bottles or alternatively holding hot plates full of brats. I have a couple that came with my Ducati. They are great for opening Italian beer and getting pasta out of the pot.

But seriously, once you see one in use (or use one), they'll make perfect sense.

Anyone know the sizes of these with the KW kit? I think there were 2 …75mm and 85mm? It appears my shop didn’t put them back in the car and it’s been a while so I was just going to buy them on Amazon or something if anyone knows where to get.

I assume you checked in all the usual and unusual places? Assuming you did, go back to the shop that did the install. I am sure they made them a new addition to their toolbox.

Does it come with instructions on how to use them? Do you just jack the car up and do same amount of turns in each side? Do you need an alignment after adjusting?
