Main gauge gone and came back in Sport Mode
I was leaving work and stopped at an intersection. Full stop, as I waited, my main gauge screen went black and HUD was gone. Middle screen then said driver assistant features were disabled.
Several seconds after, main gauge screen and HUD came back in sport mode (it was in default comfort before). Weird glitch after the SW update, and wonder whether anyone had seen the same thing. Maybe it was not a software glitch but a feature since that is almost what alot of us are wishing for, default m-mode in Sport. |

took to the dealer and they reflash the SW, ran tests and declared it was fixed after driving it for 2 miles.
Of course I got it back and drove 20 minutes back to work and it was fine. And then when I leave work several hours later, the moment I started the car, it went black again. So yeah, taking it back to dealer again next week. |

It happened to every single BMW I’ve owned, from the 2014 328i to my current 2023 X5. (one or two times per year)
It just reboots itself without anything done to it, and comes back in a few minutes like nothing happened. No need to worry in my opinion. |

No, this isn't a random reboot. And it is only the tach and speedo screen being black, not the middle screen. iDrive stays on and well and I could change drive settings and use map and everything. Just not the gauge screen.
