Midpipe exhaust leak?

I have a IRL single midpipe on my G87 M2. I just met a mechanic and he told me that I have a exhaust leak due to cheap clamps from IRL. To be honest, I can’t notice what exhaust leak sounds like and it drives fine. Is this something that needs to be fixed?

Where is it leaking from? Small leaks will usually fix themselves as they fill with carbon.

I am not sure where the leak is from, but I will check it at the local exhaust shop

Or blow out to bigger leaks that are/can be problematic.

don’t have a irl midpipe but can agree on cheap clamps. i purchased a set of new clamps from valvetronics. they have really nice clamps for like 25 bucks a piece. the section that butts up and does not have the slip joint is where you are most likely going to leak. lots of the cheap clamps bolt down and out force on one section actually bending the pipe creating the leak
