Exhaust valve actuator over rotated

I did this process to manually keep the exhaust valves open.

Since it was easy to do, I decided to swap it back to the non-modified setup to prevent any pointless hassle from the dealership during an upcoming, standard inspection. But, it seems like the exhaust valve actuators have over rotated past the ‘closed’ position of the valves. I didn’t want to forcibly turn the actuators, so I reinstalled the actuators with the stock bolts and a couple spacers, so that the actuators are slightly pressing against the valves. I’m hoping that when the actuators rotate, they’ll lock in to the valves again. Then I’ll remove the spacers.

Anyone have any other suggestions for fixing this?

With the help of a friend you can try and catch it when you open/ close it from inside the vehicle. Once you do turn off the car and the car should reset the valve open and closed positions.

The valve motor can also be reset via proper scan tool such as an autologic..

Going forward I suggest buying a valve controller. Install and removal is super quick and you will get back your quiet cold starts again.

What I tried worked, the actuators rotated and locked in with the valves. Here’s how far I had the actuator bolts unscrewed. Not sure how long it took to work since I drive for 100+ miles before checking.
