Why do some pictures of the Stradale show it 2" inset behind the bars, and others (like yours) flush against the bars? And do they come with what looks like melted plastic all over them like in their product pictures? I don't understand their choice of marketing material, it doesn't look like a $200 part on their website.

I believe he was showing the Stradale front lip, not their radiator screens.

No doubt, but he also has their radiator screen as seen in the picture and so did someone else earlier in this thread who had it mounted differently. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

I wish they came gloss black.
I'm considering getting them and painting them so they better match the other trim

Yes, the radiator screens are from the Radiator Grill Store. At the time they were the only ones available. In real life, they blend in quite well. These pictures just happened to catch them in direct glaring sunlight.

Also the front lip matches my rear spoiler which is why I selected carbon fiber.

Oh that's why they mount different, they're not Stradale they just look similar. Darnit, iirc those ones have to be zip tied right, they have no other mounting functionality?

If there are any manufacturers out there listening, we need an F87 style honeycomb that mounts flush with the front inlet trim! It feels odd we haven't gotten something that checks all the boxes.

Love mine. Seems relatively durable as well as I have scrapped pretty bad a couple of times since lowering without any real issue.

Thanks for the mounting info
10 self tappers is quite a few holes to drill into the front bumper.

Any chance I can get away with double sided trim tape and OEM bolt points?

i wouldn’t say the Stradale is subtle at all. looks great but like all the other lips pushes the front out a lot and looks like it sits very low

Maybe, but as you can see they're all under the bumper. Even if you decide to remove it later, you'll never really notice the holes.

When your aero rips off on the highway, at speed, and cuts a brake or fuel line, or worse, you’ll think “Damn, I should’ve screwed that lip on instead of just taping it.” True story.
What do you think aero does? Incredible amounts of force are put on flight control surfaces/dive planes/wings etc. That’s literally what they are for.

Without any screws you aren’t going to have great support for any downward force on the front. The screws also help pull it in tighter.

Not sure if this is your first splitter, but with my first years ago I was also super nervous about the screws.

But no need to be. As others mentioned, if you remove the splitter you won’t be able to see the holes unless you go under the car.
