Thanks for the reply. I may just give the bike a good tuneup this winter and go from there, passively watching the used market. |

Big air was my thing as a kid but I'm older and broken bones take far longer to heal.

Found out about the Polygon bike brand today, and that they're available locally... the Siskiu T7 or T8 (T for trail) look pretty well equipped for the price. They're definitely on the cheaper spectrum of things. Our used market around here sucks, too many people expecting full or 90% price for 5 yr old bikes.
YT Jeffsey is also making the list ( as LJ mentioned previously in this thread), so many non-mainstream brands out there. Last edited by freakystyly; 09-05-2023 at 03:52 PM.. |

For good value, have a look at Vitus or Norco, I'd say. Canyon may also be a decent bet.

Been a while since anyone posted...
I was shopping for bikes then realized the car could use a suspension refresh so I ordered parts for that instead. Can guess which was cheaper too. Went to the new pump track yesterday. It was cold and windy so I didn't stay long. I thought it was pretty interesting but got bored quick. Single track in the forest suits me better. |

Get a pedal assist e-bike. Well worth the premium. You still have to put in the work, but it makes hills and headwinds sooooo much easier.

I know several hardcore MTBers who have turned to the "dark side" and love it.

So I ended up caving and buying a Polygon Siskiu T8 full suspension with the BF deals going on. It was approx $1650 USD ($2250CAD) before tax. Only downside I've noticed is that it's 35 lbs but that's expected with budget bikes.
Haven't been able to get onto the trails yet, but it handles roads well. Last edited by freakystyly; 11-27-2023 at 07:54 AM.. |

Got my old 29er bike stolen so I decided to build a new one. I like bikes based on titanium frames and I like to build them by myself, choosing every single component as I like.
I've already made one for my wife based on Lynskey frame (made in Chattanooga, TN) and this time I picked 29er frame from Titus brand, called El Viajero. Equipped with Fox fork, Shimano XTR set and Thomson components. The idea was to build lightweight cross country bike which is as simple as possible. The result is 22.5 lbs of fast yet comfortable ride Some pics of the landscape here in middle Europe.. Last edited by havlmaOne; 04-02-2024 at 03:58 PM.. Reason: missing photos :-) |

Gave mine a good cleaning. Pumped-up the tires and oiled the chain. Now that the trails are passable, it's time to discover new muscles.
PS: I hate those Presta valves... |
