vivcal whatever it is I hope it's resolved quickly. Even the dealer's system is down. Was supposed to send my down payment yesterday but can't.

Yeah wow this looks like a major outage affecting all of their systems -- The Genius line has a message that says they are "closed due to unforeseen circumstances"

If the originating connection cannot get to the cloud, would that not mean the originating server is out of service?
And there are several cloud operations in Georgia and the Carolinas. Not aware of any in Florida Last edited by blue135; Yesterday at 02:27 PM.. Reason: clarify |

BroDoze We're waiting for those pics!! Hopefully you weren't affected by the system outage today.
I heard they lost power at their offices in Spartanburg, SC. I believe that's where they have their data center as well... But pretty wild that a company of this size and scale doesn't have cloud backups or some kind of disaster recovery. Last edited by vivcal; Yesterday at 06:12 PM.. Reason: added reason for outage |

I got the rear CF spoiler installed today (that was.. interesting) and have a big day tomorrow installing stuff. IS2000 pads, FPB front reflectors, Midpipe, axle-back etc. Goes in Monday for full-PPF and tint. They say they’ll need it for like 5 days. That going to be rough going without it. I’m still trying to learn iDrive n all that stuff. Very I’m-rested with the car. The audio sounds great once I got the EQ dialed and Surround disabled. Surround was just making a giant mess of the sound. Only put about 20mi on the car because I was so busy doing other stuff to it. I’ll post some more pics when it fully detailed and PPF’d. While I was picking up the car this morning at the dealer, BMW mothership was down. They were able to process me manually I guess n said they’d email some additional E-sign stuff once the system was back up. I don’t think they knew it was hurricane related.

CA texted me this afternoon and said that the car was on its way from Oxnard/Port Hueneme.
Apparently it doesn't come straight to the dealership for some reason? They told me it's going to the Richmond, CA railyard first (located around 30ish miles from the dealer) and then it'll be put on another truck from there. Hoping it doesn't take too long, but I'm assuming it's going to be another 2 days minimum when factoring in PDI as well. |
