Verus made some vortex generators for the roof, which had a different purpose, but I will probably never know if they have an impact. The original intent behind them was to keep the heated air from the hood from going over the wing. Granted, that hood is designed differently than my hood vent. Net 0 probably, but I'll keep them—they are pretty subtle when looking at the car as a whole.

If you have to start a sentence with "no offense" its going to be offensive.

You finally got the car, congratulations! I've seen so many cringe worthy photos/videos of people just placing items on the body without any protection. Refreshing to see someone that is meticulous which is obviously even more important for a frozen finish. When are you going to post more pics?

From experience, a carmel (toffee) wheel on a drill helps a lot, followed by Goof Off.

What I did today: - iS2000 F+R brake pad swap (had 27mi on the stockers and already had some nasty dust (haven’t driven the car since, as it’s on jack stands still)). Wow brake pad installs are easy on this car. Could not get over how massive the front calipers are. Almost comical. - ‘M2’ door projectors - SST Exhaust Controller - FPB front reflector swap (also SUCKED) - Hard mount pigtail for external CTEK battery tender plugin (under rear bumper, so no hood or trunk popping nonsense - MP CF gas cap (I’m a dork, but I figure I’m going to be twisting that thing a LOT) What I’ll do tomorrow: - MAD axle-back - ER midpipes - ER crossover pipe - drop the rear top brake light cover to prep for tint appointment on Monday where I say goodbye to it for 5 days (full PPF + tint) - Maybe have time to do full ColourLock clean + Protect I cannot put into words how exciting and awesome this car is! The FPB color is mesmerizing under all sorts of light. I hope it doesn’t lose any of its depth or metallic / satin sheen when I have the full PPF done. My PPF shop has both Lumar and Xpel matte PPF and I had them apply samples of each side by side and the Lumar looked the best, by far. Almost no change with the Lumar. The Xpel had a real milky/cloudy appearance to it. I was surprised because Xpel seems to be the de facto preferred choice amongst the Frozen Bimmer crew. Pretty drastic difference between the two. Xpel almost had a matte vinyl wrap look to it that really removed a lot of the qualities of the FPB. YMMV.

Installed the BMW 2 Series ScreenProTech Kit HD. If you are looking for a sharp image, the HD version delivers but the reflections are more noticeable as well.
Pretty easy install, waited a few days for the small bubles to dry out and it looks perfect. It certainly helps reducing fingerprints and dust. |

Honestly I had the same reaction to xpel stealth even on Black Sapphire Metallic it was like you could see the film on it and you lost the depth of the paint. I was excited to do satin, but the example left me disappointed so I just went full gloss. |
