Was in the same boat,
The only thing from other dealer is they add funny stuff at the end of the deal... And it comes up to like the same price as a new one... And you will need to smog it every other year since it's used.. If you think of mod'ing it...

Love the sportback but its getting up there in miles and the maintenance on it is BRUTAL, would rather put my $ into another car. Did you get a good deal on the RS3? Dealers around me are still asking 10k markups on 24's. Work is my excuse as well, I own a business so I can write some of the costs off! |

They don't care if it's used, no SMOG for the first 4 or 5 years.

Yes I paid just under msrp for the rs3, but it was still expensive relatively speaking . You are scaring me with the rs maintenance comment though lol. I was/am worried about that too. I probably should have just ordered a new m340 which was basically my second choice, that or an m3 somehow but I can’t start with a lot of miles, some years I do close to 30k. Also for business with write off but still get crushed on trading cars often lol. How many miles on your 5? Can’t believe anyone would pay over msrp … for anything, especially today . I bought my 22 hellcat for msrp and sold it a year and 25k later for the same exact price . But I did some work for dodge, they used to let me order one car a year at their cost usually 5k below msrp , so I ran with that for a long time Hahahha I think I like our m2 better than the rs3 so far but I really need a back door for my old ass and my dog and the occasional client so that’s really what drove my choice. I love fast sedans I just hope my rs3 over m340 choice works out ok . The bmw electronics and interior is clearly better in my opinion. Plus it’s rwd with the s58 which is insane. Sorry for getting off topic lol

To get back on topic I don’t know where you are, but around here there isn’t a single new m2 on a lot that I saw (s florida) so to get one new here you’re waiting 4 months and paying msrp. The one we built was 70 and change, and I paid 68.5 for a 24 with 1000 miles, and they gave me a great price for my m340. About 3.5k more than bmw or carmax oferred , so I saved about 1500 compared to new one’s price plus 3.5 better on my trade/sale so essentially I saved about 5k for getting a 24 with 1000 miles. Made sense to me. 5k is 5k lol almost 10% off and it was cleaner than my new Audi off the showroom floor . Keep looking and find a 24 with low miles and save the money if you can find one. It wasn’t easy to find a pre owned one around here either that was not manual or low mileage.

Is manual more common?
Interesting. I am looking at buying a specific used 2024 M2 ZB with about 2K miles for $5k less than MSRP. What I noticed is that all the cars on the lots in this area (WA state) are manual. Any thoughts on why they are all manual? Are people staying away from them for some reason or is it an oversight from BMW?

I usually buy used but this is a special purchase for me, buying new is part of the experience. Last car I bought was $35k with 8k miles, 0ne year old certified, new was $51. My son still drives this car and it’s kicking ass
