I just don't really care about any celeb or athletes to be honest. I enjoy the talent and art but it stops there. I don't know why there is so much hype/fuss over them. I don't want to know about their personal life and I sure don't want to hear what they think about politics etc. Play your sport or music, act in your show or movie and then go live a private life. Too much fame clearly corrupts and creates opportunity to exploit.

I agree with you 100%... except that's sadly not how it works... Hollywood has an enormous influence worldwide of American culture. It has a huge following and a ton of celebs have a massive audience... whether they are idiots or whatever it doesn't matter and the government knows that. The connection, between govt, politics and hollywood has been around forever. Take a look at a movie like Top Gun which nearly everyone loved... the govt paid hollywood to help promo it as it was basically an advertisement for the navy. Celebs and well known folks will be used as pawns to further an agenda whether we like it or not... and those celebs will always use that for some sort of personal gain as well. Kind of same with all tech companies... they have massive reach... any smart politician dare not fight w tech nor hollywood.

This is what I’ve always been curious about. How are people so naive and trusting of who these people portray themselves to be? I feel it’s the same with politics too. When people have money and power they can pretty much buy and do whatever they want. It gets boring. Money breeds power, greed and corruption. Boredom and the ability to get whatever you want leads to dark things. At first, how cool is it to buy all the things without the blink of an eye? At some point that gets old and evil things start to happen. You want to get out of something? Buy your way out. You want a decision that could impact your business to go a certain way? There is always someone to sway via a “donation.”

The line where this all occurs is very fine. I think there is a little something that’s buried in people’s brain. Money and power just unearth that. How many times have you heard I don’t know how it got to this point? Also, people don’t think they will get caught. They get the God complex they are untouchable.

People put so much emphasis on these stars. Idolatry is sin. It’s also kind of sad how this generation looks up to people and bases their decisions off what the stars say. Strip away all their money and fame. I wonder what their thoughts would be if they had to live like most in the middle class or have to struggle like a single mom/dad does.
