Euro 2000km Break-in service - Question?
If you didn’t opt for the service package, do you have to pay for the 2000km first break in service?
If yes, and you decide to do it on your own, do you lose warranty? I’d honestly rather do it myself and if I have to get it done at bmw for warranty I’ll probably do it preemptively myself anyways for a double flush on the differential But just curious

European countries don't get maintenance included without buying an extra package (such as Service Inclusive).
I'm not sure if there are other countries besides Canada and the US where maintenance is included for 3 years as a standard part of the new vehicle purchase, but around the world it certainly isn't the norm, not for other manufacturers besides BMW, either. |

BMW servicing not the best around my area, and with DME unlock planned way before the three year maintenance package timeline end, don’t really care much for warranty beyond the break-in procedure M2compcharlie Eh, in theory it sounds like a great idea, but I can’t deny that if I was a tech I’d be annoyed at the request and probably do a bad job on purpose. Diff fluid and oil isn’t expensive, I guess I can do my own 500km before the interval and have them repeat it. Can also always just re-torque both oil and diff bolts slightly off spec and use an invisibile uv pen to check later if they even touched it. And yeah, some will call me paranoid but I’m planning to keep the car for long, with warranty gone with near future flash tune, better safe than sorry
