Grigio Telesto Metallic vs Skyscraper Grey Metallic

I'm considering grey M2. Has anyone seen both of these colors (GTM & SGM) in person? How do they compare in your opinion? Is GTM worth spending an additional $2350?

Unless im mistaken the only G87 M2 in GTM currently available is the press car. I think the first batch of U.S. GTM are barely starting production so wouldn't expect people to get them until probably November/December. That said this is very subjective question. So it will be up to you. There's the 2025 BMW M2 commercial with a GTM and bmwblog walkaround on YT if you want to try and compare that way.

And it's the cost of the pain plus the cost of the carbon roof. If you weren't getting the carbon roof initially then it's a $5k upcharge.

The BMW configurator charges for the carbon roof, but it does not change the price of the paint options. At least, for BMW USA.

Skyscraper is more of a silver to me than grey.

Depends if you want silver or Gray. If it were me, GTM without a thought (yes, worth the extra $$).

I like Grigio Telesto. Any time I see it I think of a 2000hp+ UGR Gallardo I used to watch on YouTube back in the day. Car was incredible.

I like Skyscraper Grey more and my new car was painted yesterday. When I got my first G87 last year I really wanted SGM but it wasn't an option, so I got BSM.

Skyscraper has a lot more depth, and while very subtle, to my eye it's one of the best bmw colors ever produced. With the current design language, I think the metallic nature of the paint just suits the body very well. More than more "flat" paints do.

This is completely subjective opinion.

I was very pumped for SGM but it highlights the only design element of the G87 I’m iffy on. The vertical inside lines of the “box” under the taillight is emphasized by the snazzy paint. The Grigio treats this line much “softer”. Brooklyn/White/Red the same.

I might be off base here, but I think you will prefer Skycraper Gray if you like a more traditional paint.

If you're into the more modern low-flake "pastel" colors, like Brooklyn Grey, you might like Grigio Telesto more.

Grigio Telesto also seems to become much darker in low light.

Someone keep me honest here if I'm way off.

Check out the official G80 colors threads for reference. I like both colors a lot. Grigio will be much more rare and has that “flat” less metallic look that’s pretty trendy across different brands. I like it although it seems everyone is doing it from Dodge, Honda, Kia, Porsche, Jeep etc. I’m thinking about lighter BGM in that category as well, which I have. Grigio has been around a long time.

I could drive either and be content.

Coming from MOPAR, my favorite Dodge color is Destroyer Grey. If you Google it, it looks decent, but when freshly polished in person it really jumps out at you and smacks you in the face (in a good way).

Side question, I can’t find the “appreciate” button whenever I’m accessing the forum through my mobile device, which is most of the time. Is that only accessible through a desktop computer?

I saw both of them on M2s, Skyscraper is very understated, quite safe. Just a classic grey metallic, makes the M2 look more grownup, less flashy, the car blends more with the traffic.
Grigio Telesto is quite a bit more aggressive, quite dark in person, a few tones darker than Skyscraper. I think GTM will be way more special later on, SGM will be the go to color for people that are going safe.

Or simply don’t want an earth tone

Skyscraper is a clean dynamic color

Destroyer grey is a good comparison for Grigio but I think Grigio is a little darker even. Regarding “appreciate”, I think you have to scroll down and click on view in desktop mode.

This SGM color is often referred to as SSG & that's the one I would choose. It's very similar to the Space Gray color on my 2011 335i M-Sport & suits the wide body G87 M2 quite well.

There is no world where grey is going to be considered a "special color".

Funny you say that. The most "exclusive" BMW color of our time is silver/grey.
