Hey guys since I started the waitlist order thread for the m2, thought I would start this one!
I actually got first on the list for the upcoming M2 CS with my dealer! I suggest you guys start going to your dealers to get first in line! I love my G87 M2 and I can imagine how much better the CS will be! I will be actually trading my G87 M2 for the M2 CS, who else will be getting one? Picture credit: hb |

It won't be offered in a manual, so that's a no from me. Besides, if I'm spending 6 figs on a car, it won't be a BMW.

The winds have shifted a bit on ICE vehicles so I'm no longer convinced this should be THE CAR, although I'm still on the list. Probably another 4-5yrs before I pull the trigger on ultimate ICE-unleaded sports car. I'm thinking it'll take 150-250k (and probably Porsche) to secure so I'm better off waiting and having the cash.
I realized something owning my G87 - personal preference is not having a manual, and if I'm going to own a sports car, it's going to be lower than 55in tall, and probably be a flat six versus a straight six. We'll see. |

Edit, I should have placed my name on the wait list for one years ago. It is a mile long now. Last edited by T_U_D; 05-31-2023 at 02:45 PM.. |

I’m number 4 on the list. A lot will depend on the cost (really can’t see myself paying over $100k for a BMW), and the increase in performance.
So far, I’ve been delighted with the performance of the auto on my G87, so it would have to be a serious upgrade. |

But for now if you don’t have a fun car in the stable and are saving 4-5 years until you can buy a $150-$200k car down the road, I’m not sure I’d make that financial decision. |

Just buy another G87 with the ZF8, get past break-in, and let loose. Put the windows down with the car in Sport Plus and the transmission at max shift speed and hustle it through your backroad of choice, or even just in town or down the highway. It’s spicy. For $70k, it’s a stellar product.

I agree that autos are really fast around town. When I had the ZF8 I'd drive way too fast. It was like in order to get the torque thrill I'd lay into the peddle then I'm going 65 in a 35, you can't feel the speed in these new BMWs.

Sorry to revive an old thread but how did you get on a wait list? I called a couple dealerships here in Canada and they said they’ve not heard any confirmation of the M2 CS so they have no wait list. And this is 1.5 years later. I’m currently thinking of selling my 2018 M3 CS to get one. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 👍

On the CS list as #1 at my dealer, but on the fence if I want it. If it comes in at over 100k msrp, I will probably opt in for a z06 instead which has a DCT.
If the CS was manual, there would be no debate. If it looks night and day better than my G87 currently, it’s a possibility. I have the CS as MSRP also. |

Another car to option up the wazoo.
Read the bmwblog article stating individual color being velvet blue. Very cool color where its either purple or blue depending on lighting... Loved how the toronto red had people being split on it being orange or red red
