Is there a floor jack low and long enough to reach front center donut?
Jacking up these cars is a dance. Yes I’m aware of the different lift types - Quickjacks etc., but would prefer to keep it to a std floor jack right now.
Even the “long-reach” lo-pros won’t be long enough to get that center donut without first jacking up one of the front corners. I literally spent more time and effort jack-ass’ing around than swapping brake pads. This issue only worsens when a drop and/or front lip goes on the car. Stock, my lo-pro couldn’t even come close to reaching that donut. I don’t think a jack exists that’ll get this done in one shot. Example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007G83T16...WxfdGhlbWF0aWM

My car is lowered on MP HAS. Even with a low profile jack, I still have to drive on ramps first. But I just got relatively inexpensive ones from Amazon that raise the car a couple inches.
Added a splitter recently. Still no issue with ramps and jack. Last edited by mrdudley; 10-06-2024 at 01:08 PM.. |

Just get a set of Race Ramps. I needed them anyway for approach angle onto the aluminum ramps on my 4-post. If your car is or will be lowered, get the long, progressive ones as otherwise you’ll still clip the front lip of the car (when future you buys/installs one ).

These are the ones I got (they have a lip for a trailer or existing ramps for a lift).

Yes it is a huge pain in the ass once lowered with lips and skirts. I use a combo of a long reach / low pro jacks, race ramps, and wood. I have to drive the rear on race ramps. Jack up the sides to put 2x4s under the front tires. Just to get the jack to the rear diff. If not I can’t get the jack under the muffler. And when jacking up the back if the fronts not on 2x4s my front lip smashing into the ground.

These work great to get the car up just enough to fit a jack underneath even if it’s lowered with lip - https://a.co/d/396nZTA

My WRX is pretty low, so I own these Cusco ramps.
Have not had to jack up the M2 yet, but I'll be using these when I do. They come apart, so really easy to store. |
