New shift knob

It's purty! Nice weight to it, super easy install.

I like the brushed aluminum & blue leather one I have from BFI, for sure. This one just looks like it "belongs". Grabs the tricolor stitching nicely, too. A little heavier than the prior BFI knob.

What is crazy is I ordered the BFI knob/boot within 3 days of my VT Forged order and the wheels are now done and shipped with nothing from BFI.

EDIT: they have shipped!

NewToM Would love to see the installed picture of the blue knob, just want to get a better sense of real-world vs. product shot.

Thanks, I saw that from your other post earlier but wasn't sure if it was truly the blue or color shift since I thought you had the black one. I currently have the one from the F series and I like it because it is shorter than stock and feels better for me.

Do you find the BFI sits slightly lower than stock when installed?

Yeah I had the blue one originally. A buddy of mine got rid of his G87, removed his shift knob (the black urotuning I am now using) & gave it to me. I helped him a lot with his G87 so he handed it over. Nice guy!

The Urotuning knob seems slightly shorter than the BFI knob. Not enough that it gives any advantage. It is noticeably heavier than the BFI knob, feels the same in hand. I like the coin on the top of the BFI knob better, but the overall look of the Urotuning knob I like better than the BFI (the BMW M colors, for example.)

Sure! They have lots of colors & patterns. These puppies are VERY well made. Cocomats have been around forever & have a unique place in BMW owners' hearts. Super high quality, easy to clean & look cool.

I got the checker mats, but again, they have other patterns.

Yes. Ordered a simple black shift knob from BFI 3 weeks ago and nothing. No emails no updates. I’m giving it another week and doing a charge back. Ordered a shift knob from IND and had it in 3 days.

I did eventually receive it. I reached out via email and they responded. I am very happy with the quality of the knob and boot after install. I’ll get a picture without the install boxes later.

I like the looks except they ruin it by putting their name on it. Should offer an option without their dumb name/logo. I reached out 3 weeks ago and they said our website says 1-3 weeks lead time even though it didn’t say that when I ordered it. 3 weeks later, nothing. It’s a piece of aluminum with a little leather on it.

They do have other “coins” you can get that I might in the future. Think they are like $12.99. Do get the frustration with the delay when I ordered it was 1-3 days for knob and 3-7 or 7-10 dor the boot.

I don’t think so, but not sure. It was just a leather boot. My understanding is that the any original parts were used. It was just leather boot and the Knob.

The replacement boot doesn't come with the frame. Remove the frame from the original boot and use it on the new one

I have a stapler and staples that could reattach the boot to the frame, and I also used a little fabric glue to help hold everything in place just to be sure.
