Gated Shift "boot"
I have a crazy idea that i want to machine mill a gated H pattern shift "boot" and remove the leather boot.
Has anyone tried this or thought about doing it? It looks like there is enough space to do so. |

Back in the day (early 00s), I remember some JDM and other import tuners offered the aluminum plates. Cool idea, but ultimately not my cup of tea. Here's one in a 350z https://my350z.com/forum/attachments...e-sam_0859.jpg

If it were practical or effective then there would be 3 or 4 companies making them for every car.
Unless you have a solid linkage shifter and a short thow to the trans it wont work so well. Thats why you see them in mid engine cars more frequently
