actual trading hands prices, BAT is a decent gauge.

example 1: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2024-bmw-m2-2/
1,600 miles, 67,445$ MSRP, sale price of 58k (14.7% depreciation), 60,900$ with buyers fee (10.4% depreciation)

example 2: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2024-bmw-m2-4/
3,600 miles, 70,695$ MSRP, RNM at 62,000$ (12.2% depreciation) 65,100 with buyers fee (~8% depreciation) granted, this one has some mods, and was still firmly a current model year car when it inexplicably went RNM here.

as i've held here before, lower option cars will likely do better for owners when the time comes to move on. to directly answer your question, my car has BSM, carbon roof, heated wheel, park assist, and aluminum trim - 67,995 MSRP - and my sales guy threw out a 55-58k range last time i saw him if i wanted to flip into a 25 or a G80. its a 24 with ~12k miles when he saw it last. so a range of 19.1% depreciation to 14.6%.
My F87 hasn’t depreciated like that at all

I am just saying

Yeah, definitely depends on the model of vehicle. We were able to pick up my wife's X3MC exactly 1 year old & 15k mi for $68.5k, original MSRP $89.7k. But other vehicle we traded were better. '23 Grand Cherokee L, MSRP $70k, purchased new (ordered) for $64k, traded in 11 months later at $59k. It's a crap shoot.

How many miles are on it?

Low 40’s for a trade figure perhaps 🤔

That’s how many miles I have on mine

I would seriously consider selling that car yourself that sounds awfully low

Do you receive a sales tax credit in your state?

That’s a good idea definitely do your research. The tax credit is enticing and if there’s anything of value on your car, remove it put your stock stuff back on and make the car as stock as possible. I would also check with another local dealer for buy bid and see what they’ll offer you

I always check https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/car-valuation and it seems to be pretty accurate based on their data. I have transacted several vehicles and the numbers have been very close, so much so, that I trust it.

Check NADA values. Your car is probably worth mid to high 30Ks on trade and low to mid $40k private party.

Just as another data point ...

I traded my 2017 OG F87 w/ 28k miles for $36.5. I bought it for $54.

$36.5 was also the Carvana offer. I probably could have got a little more, but didn't care to haggle.

Just to throw a wrench into things; one thing we often don't consider is rate of inflation. It was unusually high from 2021-2023, so that $36.5 isn't as good as it seems on the surface.

KBB doesn't seem to be accurate saying I should get 60 or more.

Anyone recently get their car appraised anywhere for trade in?
If so how much
Mine is pretty similar to yours

Was offered 60 but am confident i could get mid 60s

Shop vac, hair dyer and some polishing compound should do the trick
