f***ing brake dust

Cleaning the wheels on this car is like a 1 hour ordeal, 15 minutes per wheel, and even then it's not 100% clean. Not to mention the second you turn the car on to roll it back into the garage, there's already rust flakes and dust on the wheels. I feel like cleaning the wheels completely ruins the car washing experience for me yet I can't leave them alone because the car looks like a piece of shit with dirty wheels.

Couple hours labor max. I went to RGsport here in California. I forgot what my OTD cost was. But it was worth every penny.

Just so you know, it is VERY easy to swap the pads. Paying anything more than $50 is highway robbery - it really is that easy.

Gtechniq fallout remover makes light work of it, spray wheels and brake callipers, leave 3-5 mins depending how hot the weather is, then rinse and just wash as normal.

I've also used Q²M Iron Wheel Cleaner Redefined with excellent results. A small bonus, the "redefined" version doesn't have the toxic scent of the previous version.

I like this stuff:

So far the iS2000s are performing great. Super cold-bite performance, which I wanted.

I have to say, I’ve had the isweep 1500’s for a little bit now and they definitely dust a lot less. If I had to guess I would say about 75% less. It was so bad because we force a lot so one day and they were filthy o gross like we neglect our car, I cannot live like that. Th isweeps were a little pricey but still a must. They stop no differently in my normal driving than OEM . I do hope they last and help preserve rotor life like my powerstops did. Even if not, they are worth every penny. Our wheels now go all week and are still somewhat glossy, OEM was one day literally an 80 mile day and wheels were black. I did them on my rs3 too last week and they are lifesavers for sure. To me it’s not an option.

As for install, I was going to do it myself but I’ve never done any work to a car like this and didn’t want to push my luck. I think they charged me 2 hours to do all 4. My hellcat was easy and I did them myself but they had no sensors or wires and they slid out the top without even having to remove the caliper, I think it’s a little more work on this car. I didn’t watch them on the m but on my rse they had to take the calipers off the wheel etc.

I dont know about 1200's and I have the 2000's. But word is; the 1500 dust the least. And the 2000's are a little more robust than the 1500's for spirited driving.

I have not had a single sound from my 2000's. Stock pads would brown my wheel 10-20 miles into driving. I get weekely washes and my wheels with the 2000's still look black, not BROWN after a week. The dust I do get doesnt turn the wheel brown. So while there might be some dust on them. It doesnt stand out at all.

Im going to put them on our new X5 with gloss black 22's very soon too! The cost is SO worth it to me.

The oem wheel design doesn't help either. Upgrading to wheels with a simpler spoke design makes cleaning much easier and will typically be much lighter weight. But even after reducing the effort, the oem pads will still insta dust. Isweep1500 kills the source.

Also, going with bronze wheels hides it quite a bit…

I use the same wheel cleaner but when I tried the spray on, spray off method, it didn't really do all that much. Ended up having to get the brushes out and scrub. It might also be due to the fact that I pre-rinsed the wheel before spraying on the product. Do you dry spray or pre rinse?
