I recently bought a 2024 M2 in Toronto Red with a manual transmission and I simply love it.

I live in Madison, WI, and plan to drive this car during the Winter months, as long as the roads are clear and there isn't a heavy snowfall in the forecast. I recently purchased Nokian snow tires and winter rims (19" all around) and plan to put these on the car as soon as it looks like Winter weather is on its way.

Here's my question. I went to the dealership and bought winter floor mats for the front seats, also in preparation for Winter. When I mentioned that I wanted them for the Winter months, the salesperson rolled their eyes dramatically and said, "you're NOT going to drive an M2 in Winter, are you? That car isn't meant to drive on slippery roads."

I thought about it for a second and then decided I wasn't going to respond. I just paid for the floor mats and left.

For all of you in the Upper Midwest - - - do you agree? Is the M2 a capable winter car, as long as you have the right tires and avoid situations where you have to plow through snow drifts or huge accumulations of snow?

I mean, these cars are driven all over Germany and they have snow there, as well! Plus, again - - - I'm not planning to drive my M2 when the roads aren't going to be plowed/cleared.

I'd love to hear from those of you who have driven your M2 in Winter . . .

I drove mine all last winter with winter tires and had no issues with the exception of my driveway (long driveway on a steep hill) There was only a couple of times where i took my wife's SUV due to blizzard while i would be at work. I live near Grand Rapids Michigan.

Handling was fine and the traction control works great as long as you drive with the weather in mind. My biggest fear was the other drivers not my M2 not being able to handle the drive.

Be careful with the plowed roads, when the plows go perpendicular they can some times push a small berm up and the M2 stock height is pretty high but the mini berms can be higher

Get some good winter mats, I went with tuxmat and modified them for MT. I also got a square 245x19 winter setup to cut through snow and had no issues. I'm also selling my setup if you're interested.
