2025 M2 Adaptive Headlight Malfunction
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some advice or hear about similar experiences regarding an issue I’m facing with G87 M2 adaptive headlights. I’ve taken the car in for service twice now due to a malfunction warning with the adaptive headlight system. (I picked up the 2025 m2 around the first week of October, and went to service twice.) Both times, the service center was unable to fix the problem, and my advisor mentioned it would be escalated to the regional rep. The warning isn’t just an inconvenience—it’s blocking some dashboard functions, like the tire pressure monitoring screen. It also poses a safety concern, especially at night when I can’t properly see the corners when turning. To make matters worse, even when I suppress the warning, it comes back after about 5 seconds. Has anyone else dealt with a similar issue? I heard 2025 X7 had a similar issue from the service advisor. What ended up being the resolution for you? Any suggestions on what I can do to ensure this gets properly handled or if I should take further action? Does it qualify for lemon law? I appreciate any input or advice! Thanks, |

Agreed. While it definitely sucks to have issues with a brand new car, as long as the headlights are on/working, it's not a safety concern. Very few vehicles have cornering headlights and people can take curves just fine with standard headlights. Hope it gets resolved for you OP.

the service guys checked the fault and tried swapping the control modules. when the fault remained on the same side (the scan specified which headlight had the fault), they determined the headlight unit had to be replaced. if you scan the fault code and look it up, that's the procedure BMW outlines. re: the message blocking the other dash info, just hit the < or > button on your steering wheel. the message will return but at least you can view the other info for a while. Cant help you much on the lemon law point since i'm not US based. Hope the info helps and you get it fixed soon. bummer that its straight off a new car, but the headlight replacement shouldn't be too difficult. Am a little surprised your dealer didn't have a solution and have to escalate. I'd expect worst case scenario is they replace the headlight. My dealer ordered the part, returned the car to me, called me back in a week and got the job done. Last edited by motorknut; 10-19-2024 at 08:27 PM.. |

when ccm was there there is a fault in the memory... shop should issue the error like motorknut said...
swapping flel/fler if error is next time in the other headlight error is inside the module if not error is in headlight they just need to read the *beep* repair manual |

Cropping is transcoding which results in loss of fidelity; they just need to be rotated.
