Those cars were made for the same purpose as this car (also the M2 CS Racing). Specific cups were introduced for those cars, but the car was designed to participate in many environments. I have no doubt the same will happen for this car (we’ll see in the upcoming press release/specs reveal).

For example:

These types of releases are a bit annoying…Some marketing speak about livery and zero details about the actual car.

How about what components are different, suspension adjustability, wheels and tire specs, interior, roll bar, seat, dash changes etc.

Livery is the last thing racers actually care about.

Even the GR Racing Cup gets a proper aero package. I am biased here, though. Fwiw, the CSR aero parts have worked very well, with obvious effect to corner speed and exit traction.

Not sure what BMW was thinking with this one. I mean, not everyone will and should like every single thing, but c’mon, this livery pattern is completely asymmetrical… if this was an animal, it would never find a mate because it lacks symmetry/beauty

The car is going to come I white…. Why is everyone so bent out of shape? The teams will do whatever.

This livery actually reminds me of the Ja zum Ring! Z4 GT3 from the 2012(?) VLN/N24.

The only thing that matters is how competitive it will be. And we know nothing about that.

The F87 M2 CS racing was not very competitive as I recall. Let’s give this one a chance please.

Once I understood the the design decision for the "line wrap" I appreciated it 1000x more regardless of the aesthetics.
