No More Loaners!!!
Went in for my first year service appointment. Was told no more loaners for a simple service. CA claimed BMW was not giving them as many cars for loaners. Anyone else experience this?

I've seen it in other brands. They get the service done in less than 2hrs on those other brands so it hasn't been a problem for me.

I get BMW to pick my car up and bring it back.
It was always too time consuming visiting the dealership and sorting out loan cars. Loan cars were always crap too because they have to insure them for very young customers. |

Ugh not happy to hear this.
I had a great relationship with my SA and he would always ensure there was a loaner car there for me. Not only that, after the first 3 2-series gran coupes, I asked to never be put in one of those again. After that it was X5 or 5 series every time. Even when reception was scheduling me and they told me they had no loaners, my SA would make sure they had a 5 series for me. Unfortunately he left my dealership and now I don't have a good relationship with any of the SAs. My dealership is almost an hour away from my home. There is no way I can leave my M2 there for service and have no car. |

I've been into service the past few months twice and had a loaner each time. But I did request a loaner before making the appt. The appt's were usually 2-3 weeks out. Maybe it depends on the service

I think it depends on the dealer these days. We have a dealer conglomerate in my city that advertises "free service loaners" across all brands I have seen. This includes one of the BMW dealers in my city, which I have had a rental provided both times, not an actual BMW. I was planning on using the other dealer that is much closer to me, which is fine if they give me an Uber (which they have before). They gave me an X3 and X5 for longer services, but that will be really annoying if they don't have loaners anymore for things that take more than the day.
What irks me a bit is the fact I thought some of the niceties should be included when buying a "premium" brand. I guess those days are fading fast. |

Dropped off my M240i this morning and was given a brand new (60 miles on the odometer) M850i, no joke. My advisor always takes care of me, just have to be patient and respectful. I am too nervous to even drive this thing…took me 5x as long to back it into my small third garage spot, was that nervous! The V8 sound is intoxicating. Steering feel is beyond horrendous, but that exhaust….

i have my annual coming up on the 17th. ive double checked and they have a loaner for me. i think its a dealership thing and not a bmwna thing. also, i dont remember or know if its with other dealers, but i signed an addendum or something with the dealership guaranteeing a loaner for the lifespan of the warranty period.

Still getting loaners but they have to be scheduled in advance and can push an appointment out. For example, scheduling an a routine service came in 3 flavors:
1) soonest meant I'd have drop it off, no loaner, shuttle option 2) a little further out meant I could wait (just an oil change) or take the shuttle 3) about 3 weeks out meant I wait, take the shuttle, or get a loaner According to the service advors, those aren't set options but merely contingent on how busy they happend to be, availability, etc. |

I'm getting a loaner for when they look at my other headlight condensation issue, have to pay £18 for insurance and wait a couple weeks longer to get it booked in.
